Ipamorelin Testing
Selective pentapeptide GHRP. Minimal cortisol/prolactin release.
Mechanism of action
Selective ghrelin/GHSR agonist; pentapeptide. Stimulates pulsatile growth hormone release with minimal effect on cortisol, prolactin, or aldosterone — distinguishing it from older GHRPs (GHRP-2, GHRP-6, hexarelin).
Sequence & structure
Three non-natural amino acids (Aib, D-2-Nal, D-Phe). C-terminal amidation is essential.
Research areas
- ●GH-deficiency research
- ●Recovery and body composition
- ●Combined GHRH + GHRP protocols (with CJC-1295)
Dosing in the literature
Research dosing 100–300 μg SC. Typically combined with a GHRH analog (CJC-1295) for synergistic GH release.

What we test on Ipamorelin
Short peptide, easy to test cleanly. RP-HPLC, MS/MS sequence and stereo confirmation, endotoxin.
- ✓RP-HPLC purity
- ✓ESI-MS identity
- ✓Amino acid analysis
- ✓Residual solvents (GC-MS)
Common impurities & failure modes
- Racemized D-amino acid positions
D-Phe or D-2-Nal converting to L-form destroys receptor selectivity. Chiral analysis or co-elution with reference standard required.
- Free acid (failed amidation)
−1 Da shift; significant potency loss.
- Aib substitution failures
Replacement with Ala or Gly happens in poor syntheses.
